Monday, June 27 MSU Stadium Clean UP

We will be doing an extra clean up at MSU stadium after the U2 concert to raise money for new uniforms! When: Monday June 27, 2011 Time: 7:00 AM - We will meet earlier then normal so we can get parents before they go to work. This clean-up will pay us $1500.00!!! Because I told her it would be very hard to get parents to help so she threw in another $500. Bottle and Can Uniform Fundraiser

Dear Band Parents and Students, The fundraising for the new band uniforms is ready for kick-off. The first bottle and can drive is scheduled for May 31st - June 5th. Band students will need to work in teams (sign up sheets in band room) to canvass the city and pick up as many returnables as possible during the week. We will need some parents to volunteer driving those teams that don't have a student driver. Students may drop bottles and cans at my home, 113 W Washington St (downtown) or the Starr home at 13215 Old Hickory Trail (behind the JH). I will also need at least two more parents to volunteer to be a drop site. I have been asked by Meijer not to cash in our collection on the weekend. Therefore, we will return what we collect to the DeWitt Meijer on the morning of Tuesday, June 7th. If you have questions or to volunteer, contact me at 517-862-2484 or fundraising@dewittband.org. Memorial Day Parade

Here is the schedule for the Memorial Day Parade:
  • The Band room will open from 9 - 9:15
  • Dress: Khaki (tan) Shorts, white shirt
  • Meet at Fuerstenau on Washington Street at 9:30
  • The band will march east Washington, north on Bridge to the DeWitt Cemetery for a short ceremony.
  • The Band room will NOT be open after the parade.
  • Also - for graduation/commencement BOTH the pops band AND the symphonic band will be performing.

    MSU Stadium Clean-up Fundraiser

    When: Saturday, September 3, 7:20 AM We will be finished by 9:00 AM - last year we were done by 8:30 AM! You will still have plenty of time for your holiday weekend festivities! How do you raise $1,000 in under 2 hours? By gathering 100 band members, friends and family and picking up the MSU Stadium after a football game! Please mark it on your calendar! We MUST have 100 helpers or we won't be allowed to do this VERY IMPORTANT fundraiser. A sign up sheet will be forthcoming.

    Tuesday, May 31 Band Booster Meeting

    What: Band Booster Meeting When: Tuesday May 31st at 7 pm in the band room What: This meeting we will be focusing on fund-raising for the coming year. As most everyone is aware, our old uniforms are over ten years old and a committee has been working for over a year to pick a new uniform. Now we need to figure out how to pay for them. Because of the unfortunate financial situation the school is in because of state funding. The boosters must raise the money to pay for the new uniforms. This meeting will be to figure out the best way to do that. We need everyone to please attend this meeting, we need all boosters on board with campaign.

    Band Awards Night Rescheduled

    Please make a note that due to a scheduling conflict, the band awards night has been moved to Monday, May 16 at 7 pm in the High School Auditorium. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused any of you, and can't wait to see you all there!
